Dear Friends of the School,
This is a particularly happy day.
After almost two years of preparation, we are finally opening the first Italian international kindergarten in Hong Kong.
Let me remind you of a few points:
- Is non-profit
- Has pure cultural & educational purposes
- Has been conceived to offer the best in early childhood education
- Is based on the modern Italian pedagogical tradition (“the Reggio Children approach”)
- And it is aimed to respect and integrate the best cultural elements of Hong Kong, a truly international society
- Is composed of young and highly qualified teachers (most of them have a Master’s Degree) who are native speakers of Italian, English, Putonghua and Cantonese
Our target teacher/pupil ratio is 1:9
In brief, our students will be exposed to an advanced pedagogical system, which blends different cultures and will be taught by professional and dedicated teachers:
We trust our children will expand their knowledge, become more open-minded, smarter and ready to master the transition to other educational systems without any difficulty.
I would like to express my gratitude for their help and support to:
- The Ambassador of Italy, Ettore Sequi
- The Consul General of Italy, Clemente Contestabile, and his Deputy, Giorgia Norfo
- Mariassunta Peci, who has drawn the basic lines of the project
- Claudia Giudici, President of Reggio Children
- Miss Giulia Ziggiotti, our Executive Director
- And to all the school team led by our principal Azalea Wong.
Last but not least, I would like to give special thanks to all the Hong Kong Authorities, particularly to the Education Bureau, who have paid special attention to our project!

Dear families, children and friends,

From the footsteps of our Accredited Italian Embassy School in Beijing, we are glad to announce that the Italian International Kindergarten in Hong Kong has received the licence from the Education Bureau (School Registration Number 611646).
The kindergarten will be the first school in Hong Kong to collaborate directly with Reggio Children, the famous Italian educational institution originated in Reggio Emilia, inspiring schools in more than 110 countries in the world, and to root the Italian tradition in education in Hong Kong, Asia’s world city.
The establishment of an Italian School, in cooperation with the Consulate General of Italy and other Italian agencies and institutions active in Hong Kong, will ultimately contribute to the promotion and spread of the Italian culture and language and, indirectly, of the so called “Made in Italy”, thus to guarantee an integrated cooperation between Italy and Hong Kong both in cultural and economic aspects.
As in Beijing, the School is meant to provide a service to Italian, international as well as local families dwelling in Hong Kong. For this reason, tuition fees will be reasonable compared with the local market.
The kindergarten will offer two curricula: the “Italian/English plus Chinese language and culture” will eye at the Italian and international families, for their child/children to fully embrace the local language-rich environment and the “English/Chinese, plus Italian language and culture” for those local families interested in their child/children to discover the authentic Reggio Approach and to learn more about Italian language and culture.
We hereby invite you to join the first Open Day that will be held on Saturday, January 12th 2019 at the School premises (address: Podium Level 1, Block 4, Phase 1, South Horizons, Ap Lei Chau, Hong Kong) in two sections:
